STUDENT ORIENTATION VIDEO (PAPERWORK INSTRUCTIONS)
What is the OJT Program?
OJT stands for On-the-Job Training.
This Work-based Learning program has been around at NSBHS since 1949- see the newspaper clipping below!
OJT students earn elective credits based on their work experience at an eligible part-time job. Work hours do NOT need to correspond to OJT periods. The program is designed to help the student balance the responsibilities of work while achieving academic success in school.
The initial form to apply for OJT is below. This should be turned in to the counseling office or emailed to Mrs. Shea by the last day of the prior school year. A new form must be submitted if worksite information changes over the summer.
Students will be notified via a text invitation to the OJT Remind group if their worksite and hours qualify for a spot in the OJT program. This will be sent prior to the first day of school. OJT spots are limited! Students are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis with seniors given priority.
